Kara Casey
Kara is the Director of Economic Empowerment at the Vermont Network. In this role, she works with advocates at the Network’s 15 member programs, partner organizations, state agencies and policymakers to ensure Vermont is a place in which survivors of domestic and sexual violence have the resources that they need to heal and thrive.
Kara has spent her career working with Vermont’s most vulnerable populations including facilitating home shares and working with individuals living with and at risk of HIV. Her passion for social justice has grown through the power of listening to others tell their stories. Kara has a B.A. in psychology and gender studies from Johnson State College and holds a certificate in nonprofit management.
Her free time is spent roaming the woods, swimming and chasing around her two energetic young children.
