Bessie McManus

In her role as Director of Learning Engagement, Bessie works in tandem with the training team to create meaningful learning and leadership experiences, leaning into Adrienne Marie Brown’s message that “there is a conversation in the room that only these people at this moment can have” —which is to say she is dedicated to unearthing that conversation at every VT Network training and gathering. She is equally as committed to rallying around those at the center of harm after it happens as she is to building a culture of nurturance to promote the power of relationships done right. Bessie loves creating the most enriching life her two dogs, Eleanor and Ernest, playing roller derby, and watching her nieces grow up. She is always taking recs for crockpot recipes and ’80s movies (preferably to be enjoyed at the same time)!
