Amy Torchia

Now in the role of Children’s Advocacy Coordinator, Amy has worked with the Vermont Network leading children, youth, and family focused projects since 2000 but her advocacy career began back in 1987 when she worked as a Children’s Program Coordinator at a domestic violence shelter in Pennsylvania.  She has gained her most important knowledge and understanding from the stories and experiences shared with her by the children, parents, and advocates with whom she’s worked over the years.  Amy holds love, healing, deep caring, and connection as central tenets of her life and work and has a vision for a world where children and youth are valued, honored, and thrive. Being a mom is by far Amy’s most cherished experience. When not advocating on behalf of Vermont’s youth, Amy spends much of her time gardening, singing, and loving on her dog and family.
