Businesses Uplift Information Session

Join the Virtual Businesses Uplift Info Session
Thursday, February 13th
9:00am – 10:00am EST

Employers have the power to shape culture—within their workplaces and beyond. At the Vermont Network, we believe that being a great place to work means supporting all members of your staff and community to thrive.

Here in Vermont, we’re fortunate to collaborate with businesses, non-profits, and other employers that share our goal of creating positive social change.

Domestic and sexual harm may not traditionally be seen as workplace issues, yet they affect approximately 40,000 Vermonters each year. These individuals are not only members of our communities and patrons at local businesses—they’re also employees whose ability to thrive at work can be profoundly impacted by these experiences.

Without workplace support, survivors of domestic and sexual harm often face:

  • Decreased productivity
  • Increased absences
  • Job loss
  • In extreme cases, life-threatening harm

This is why we’ve created the Businesses Uplift project. Through this pilot program, we aim to equip Vermont employers with the tools to:

  • Support employees, customers, and community members affected by domestic and sexual harm.
  • Prevent instances of workplace harm, such as harassment, stalking, or violence.
What’s in it for your business?

Participating in this program is free and can help you:

  • Increase employee retention
  • Strengthen recruitment efforts
  • Demonstrate your organization’s values to staff, customers, and the community
What we provide:

Over the course of the program, Businesses Uplift cohort members will receive free access to:

  • A personalized assessment of organizational needs and goals
  • Guidance on creating model workplace policies
  • Customizable trainings for groups of various sizes
  • Resources and informational materials
  • Peer learning opportunities with other participating businesses

Creating a just and thriving Vermont economy begins with ensuring all Vermonters can thrive.
